Rebecca is a Registered Psychologist based in Northern Sydney.
Rebecca works with children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her key interests include supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and those with a complex trauma background. She believes in a holistic and systemic approach to supporting children and their families.
Rebecca has extensive experience providing training to staff and parent groups, and enjoys focusing and building on existing strengths within networks. She regularly facilitates parenting groups, as well as sibling support and education programs. She recently developed a stress and coping group program for adults with a mild intellectual disability. The Resilience Doughnut model has been a practical way to support individual and family growth.
Rebecca currently works for a non-government organization in Sydney’s North West, providing behaviour support, individual therapy and group programs to people with an intellectual disability, their families and support staff. She prefers a solution-focused approach in counselling, and uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, acceptance and mindfulness and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Rebecca’s approach is adaptable, non-directive and client-focused.
