Our accredited Facilitator Training will equip you with the knowledge, skills and resources to implement The Resilience Doughnut and Resilience Report within your own organisation, school, business or counselling practice.

Completing the Adult Training will contribute 26 hours of QTC Registered PD addressing 3.7.4; 7.1.4; 7.2.4 and 7.3.4 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Lead Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

 

 

(Stage 1 contributes 20 hours of NESA endorsed training and Stage 2 (Application Day) contributes 6 hours of NESA endorsed training)

Duration

Our Facilitator Training is composed of two compulsory stages as follows:

  • Stage 1: 20 hours online training.
  • Stage 2: 1 day face-to-face training (or 6 hours Online)

Stage 1 provides an in-depth training experience. We recommend allocating 3-4 hours per week for 6 weeks. Weekly online interaction with reading material, videos, group discussions and tasks, as well as the completion of a reflective journal, is required to progress to Stage 2.

Pre-training requirements

  • We ask you to read ‘The Resilience Doughnut – The Secret of Strong Adults’.
  • Although not required, we encourage organisations to run some team training before, during or after Facilitator Training.

Our Level 1 Training (Adult) will enable you to lead the Resilience Doughnut implementation and fully embed the model into existing good practice within your organisation.

As a Resilience Doughnut Facilitator (Adult) you will be able to:

  • Lead the implementation of The Resilience Doughnut at a one-to-one support, small group, department or whole organisation level
  • Lead the development of a whole-organisation Resilience Doughnut strategy, to build emotional resilience and wellbeing.
  • Use the Resilience Report to lead the development of a whole organisation data-informed strategy to enable continuous improvement in adult wellbeing and resilience.
  • Lead the delivery of one-to-one, small group workshops with adults of all ages.
  • Lead the delivery of workshops for colleagues.
  • Cascade practical strategies to colleagues which will enhance a more optimistic thinking style in adults, and nurture their abilities for moral thinking and perspective taking.

Stage 1

Available as 20 hours online training. We also offer optional face-to-face, in-house support at any stage of the online training process.

What does the Stage 1 cover?

  • Australian and overseas research in resilience in adults, the Resilience Doughnut model and how to teach the model to others.
  • Training in the transitional stages of adult life and its influence on relationships and coping with change.
  • Training in optimistic thinking and its impact on our own personal and professional resilience and interactions in the home and workplace.
  • Developing processes to help adults cope with stress, pressure or challenging agendas in the workplace.
  • Training in how the Resilience Doughnut model can be used to build a culture of personal and professional resilience and assist staff ‘bounce forward’ from life’s challenges.

The training will focus on:

  • Research into adult resilience.
  • The Resilience Doughnut adult model.
  • Case studies.
  • Transitional stages and resilience.
  • Relationships.
  • Ageing v/s relationships.
  • Conflict.
  • Personal and professional resilience in the workplace.
  • Bouncing forward from life’s challenges.
  • Feedback from The Resilience Doughnut research data.

Upon successful completion of Stage 1:

  • Receive the Facilitator Kit.
  • Receive Resilience Report: Group Manager Premium Account and Setup Training.
  • Progress to Stage 2.

Stage 2 (Application Day training)

Available as 1 day face-to-face open training. We can also run in-house training at your organisation for a minimum of 4 participants – We will contact you to discuss if you select this when booking.

What does the Stage 2 cover?

  • Developing an adult wellbeing plan for your organisation.
  • Planning your Resilience Doughnut Strategy.
  • Leading the development of a whole organisation data-informed strategy to enable continuous improvement in adult wellbeing and resilience.
  • Application case studies: how to apply as an intervention (structured and unstructured).

Upon successful completion of Stage 2:

  • Awarded accredited Resilience Doughnut Facilitator status.
  • Receive online access to downloadable resources.
  • Opportunity to access further online or face-to-face training and support.

What else is included?

  • Facilitator Kit which includes: large floor model; set of workbooks, training cards and cut-out cards; a copy of The Resilience Doughnut – The Secret of Strong Adults.
  • Online access to free downloadable resources via our Professional Learning Network.
  • Resilience Report: Group Manager Premium Account for 12 months with 35 Personal Accounts.
  • Resilience Report – Setup Training.

Multiple Facilitators

Considering more than one Resilience Doughnut Facilitator? Having at least one facilitator from your leadership team with a strategic perspective and one working ‘on the ground’ with adults provides many obvious benefits from a strategic implementation perspective.

STAGE 2 APPLICATION

Available as 1 day face-to-face open training. We can also run in-house training at your school or college for a minimum of 6 participants – Contact our team for information.

Upon successful completion of Stage 2:

  • Awarded accredited Level 1 Trainer status.
  • Receive online access to downloadable resources.
  • Opportunity to progress onto our Intervention Program Training.
  • Opportunity to access further online or face-to-face training and support.

Notes

  • Full payment for accredited Level 1 Training is made when booking Stage 1.
  • Participants can book places on Stage 2 at any time, but successful completion of Stage 1 is required before participation.
  • Stage 2 must be completed within 3 months of Stage 1.
  • Both stages must be completed to receive accreditation.

The training will assume that participants are familiar with the Resilience Doughnut model.

Therefore all attendees at the Accredited Training are required to:
– have attended a session on the Resilience Doughnut at a conference or workshop
OR
– have read Lyn Worsley’s book “The Resilience Doughnut: The Secret of Strong Kids”).

Become an Accredited Trainer

There is also the option for practitioners who have completed the Accredited Training course to become Accredited Trainers who can then teach the Resilience Doughnut to other professionals and organisations.
